Committee to quiz Minister on fuel poverty

The Assembly’s Sustainability Committee will take evidence from Environment Minister Jane Davidson on fuel poverty this week.

The Committee has held an evidence session with energywatch and five of the largest energy supply companies and, Members are concerned that 22 per cent of Welsh households are in fuel poverty.

The Committee has welcomed steps taken by the Welsh Assembly Government in addressing fuel poverty through schemes such as the Home Energy Efficiency Scheme and look forward to hearing the Minister’s views on the future of this programme.

The Minister will also be giving evidence on the draft Marine Bill and its application to Wales.

The meeting takes place at 9am in Committee Room 3, Senedd, on Wednesday June 4.
