Young People present petition in support of a living wage for workers in Wales

12 June 2012

Young campaigners working with Save the Children will present a petition to the National Assembly for Wales’s Petitions Committee at the Senedd at 18.30 on Tuesday 12 June.

The group claims that the minimum wage is not enough for some parents to make ends meet, and is campaigning for a living wage of at least £7.20 an hour as a way of tackling child poverty in Wales.

The petition states:

We call on the Welsh Government to stand by their promise to work towards a living wage for every worker in Wales and tell us when and how they will make it happen.
