Health and Social Care Committee hears evidence in Wrexham

12 June 2012

The National Assembly for Wales’s Health and Social Care Committee will hold meetings at Glyndŵr University, Wrexham on Thursday, 14 June.

The Committee, chaired by Mark Drakeford AM, is currently undertaking an inquiry into residential care for older people.

The Committee would like to hear from people who are considering their own or a relative’s future care needs or who have been affected by the need for family members or friends to move into residential care. Members of the public are invited to share their experiences of residential care and discuss factors that influence their perception of care for older people with Committee members at an informal coffee morning at Glyndŵr University from 09.30 to 10.30.

Following this session, the Committee will hold a formal meeting to hear evidence from a range of residential care providers, including representatives from Care Forum Wales, Haulfryn care home in Wrexham, BUPA, Terra Firma and Four Seasons.

Members of the public wishing to share their thoughts should let the Health and Social Care Committee team know by e-mailing HSCCommittee@wales.gov.uk or phoning 029 2089 8506.

Members of the public wishing to attend the formal meeting should book a seat in the public gallery by contacting the Assembly booking line on 0845 010 5500 or e-mail assembly.bookings@wales.gov.uk
