Cuts to Gwent Police

The National Assembly:

Notes the concern expressed by Gwent Police Federation relating to planned cuts to policing by the United Kingdom Government;

Shares the Federation's fears that such cuts will lead to an increase in crime and a decline in the levels of service provided by the police;

Calls on the UK Government to abandon plans to cut the police budget by 20 per cent.
