Proposed PCS Strike

This Assembly:

Recognises the essential work done by civil servants, without which the Welsh Assembly Government would be unable to function;

Expresses deep concern at proposed changes to the Civil Service Compensation Scheme, which the UK Government is seeking to implement, which would leave many civil servants thousands of pounds worse off in the event of voluntary or compulsory redundancy;

Supports PCS union members in taking industrial action in defence of their redundancy rights; and

Urges the UK Government to return to negotiations with PCS in order to facilitate a just settlement of this dispute.
