International Conscientious Objectors Day

This Assembly:

Notes that 15 May each year is International Conscientious Objectors’ Day;

Recognises the strong tradition of supporting the right to refuse to kill that exists in Wales;

Welcomes the memorial to conscientious objection, unveiled in the National Garden of Peace in Cathays Park, Cardiff in 2005;

Believes it appropriate for the National Assembly for Wales to mark International Conscientious Objectors’ Day annually with a small event in the Senedd.
