e-Petition: Protect Welsh Dialect in Welsh Schools

open quote / dyfyniad agored

We are calling on the Welsh Government to adopt regional Welsh dialect as part of the National Curriculum in Wales as an essential part of learning Welsh in Wales.
As speakers of the language, we wish to see the continuity of Welsh regional dialects in addition to Welsh in its more general form as some Welsh regional dialects are under threat.
Teaching Welsh dialect in our schools will ensure that more people speak the language naturally and correctly in their communities.
