e-Petition: Asset Community Value to be made law in Wales

open quote / dyfyniad agored

We call on the National Assembly for Wales to urge the Welsh Government to bring forward legislation to ensure that communities are given the opportunity to purchase community assets when they come up for sale, together with the necessary information.

We want to save OUR village pub, the Cross Foxes, Garndolbenmaen from change of use. We, the villagers, want to buy it as a Community asset. Please sign and share Caroll Ann Morris's petition on behalf of the villagers. We lost our shop and our post office two years ago without notice.

A.C.V. is law in England and has saved a large amount of communities from losing their last community value. Some Pubs and Inns are now winning awards and have saved the future of their villages from dying a death. It needs to be law in Wales in order to save communities and villages like ours becoming like Llanbedrog and Abersoch where there are very few year round residents. We need this to stop and the sooner the better. Liz Saville Roberts our MP is fully behind us on this. I have petitioned the UK Government but it has been declined as it is a matter for the Welsh Assembly.
