Each year, the Eisteddfod features Societies Sessions, in which different groups and organisations present interesting and varied sessions on different subjects. We will be hosting five of these sessions, in parternship with different organisations.

All of our sessions will be streamed live on Facebook and will be available on Senedd TV.

Democracy and the Arts: the effect of one on the other

Democracy and the Arts play a central role in the lives of Welsh people – but how do they affect each other? Join a panel of politicians and leading figures from the arts world to discuss the relationship between democracy and the arts.

Discussion panel led by Elin Jones AM, Llywydd of the National Assembly for Wales.

This is an event by the Electoral Commission to discuss the idea of reducing the voting age to 16 at elections in Wales. The panel will be chaired by Elan Closs Stephens.

All over Wales, local government and public bodies face the challenge of providing public services with reduced financial resources. How can 'austerity' best be tackled? Should it be resisted, or indeed is it such a bad thing at all? Join a panel of leading commentators, campaigners and local government figures to discuss one of the burning issues of Welsh public life today.
