Response to the announcement of the successful bidder to run the Wales and Borders rail franchise
Russell George, Chair of the National Assembly’s Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Committee, said:
"The announcement of the successful bidder to run the franchise is the start of process to ensure passengers get the improvements to services they've been waiting for.
“In June 2017, the EIS Committee published its top 10 issues that passengers want to see improved and I wish KeolisAmey well in working with the Welsh Government and Transport for Wales to make this a reality.
"The Committee has consistently called on the government to publish details of the contract once it is awarded, and I look forward to scrutinising the details of the arrangements, and the successful bidder, to find out how and when the needs of current and future travellers will be met."
