Dr Aled Eirug was a journalist for 25 years, and served as Head of News and Current Affairs (1992-2003) for BBC Wales. Between 2006 and 2011, he worked as constitutional adviser to the Presiding Officer in the National Assembly He was chair of the British Council in Wales (2010-2016), and chair of the Welsh Refugee Council (2007-2012). At present he is a member of Ofcom’s Content Board and is a senior lecturer at Swansea University, and has recently published two books on the Opposition to the Great War in Wales.
