important, high profile role. The Auditor General for Wales has overall responsibility for the audit of public sector bodies in Wales and is the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the Wales Audit Office. This is a Crown appointment made on an 8 year fixed term basis on the nomination of the Assembly. The post attracts a salary of £142,000.
