Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

The Assembly:

Welcomes that November marks Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month;

Congratulates all charities and their supporters on their work throughout Wales to raise awareness of the disease, which has the worst survival rate of the 21 most common cancers in Wales;

Considers it concerning that a recent poll commissioned by Pancreatic Cancer UK found that 74 per cent of people in the UK cannot name a single symptom of the disease, showing the importance of raising awareness;

Calls on the Welsh Government to work with charities, service providers and health professionals to improve awareness, research, diagnosis, treatment and outcomes across the country.
