Anti-Slavery Day 2016

The National Assembly for Wales:

Notes that on 18 October 2016 events will be held across the UK to acknowledge that men, women and children continue to be victims of the modern-day slave trade, despite the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade more than 200 years ago;

Acknowledges that this day helps to raise awareness of the dangers of modern-day slavery, including human trafficking and exploitation, and encourages people to be proactive in their fight against slavery; and

Notes the collaboration between the Welsh Government, third sector organisations, the police and other public sector organisations in tackling this issue.
