This paper has been prepared for consideration by the National Assembly for Wales Commission. It has been deemed suitable for publication after such consideration in line with the Commission’s rules for conduct of business. Premature publication or disclosure of the contents of this paper is not permitted as this might prejudice the Commission’s deliberations

1.0 Purpose and summary of issues

1.1 This year’s Annual Report and Statement of Accounts will be compiled by a cross-service project group under the guidance of the Assembly’s Media, Brand and e-Democracy team.

1.2 It will be aimed at a general audience, primarily the public, stakeholders, the media and Assembly Members.

1.3. It will highlight how the Assembly has delivered against the Assembly Commission’s strategic goals for the period, and will also highlight key aspects of our preparations for the Fourth Assembly.

1.4. It will only be available online; a shorter printed summary document will also be developed for use at events and in the Senedd.

2.0 Recommendations

2.1. That the Assembly Commission agrees the proposed outline for the Annual Report 2010 – 2011.

3.1.6. The referendum on the Assembly’s legislative powers – preparatory work, the result and the implications for the Fourth Assembly

3.1.7 Overview of the Remuneration Board’s appointment, the consultation work and its report

3.1.8. Looking ahead to the Fourth Assembly and a review of the preparatory work.

3.2 As outlined in the National Assembly Commission Accounts Timetable 2010 – 2011, the English version of the Annual Report will be available for review on June 1, 2011, the date it has been earmarked to be sent for translation.

3.3 The Annual Report and Statement of Accounts will be laid before the Commission in pdf format and published online week commencing 11 July 2011.
