Concerns over potential re-branding of Cardiff City Football Club

The National Assembly:

Notes proposals under consideration by the owners of Cardiff City FC to undertake major rebranding, including plans to change the club’s colours from blue to red, and significantly change the club’s crest.

Recognises that blue has been the club’s primary colour since 1908 and is synonymous with the club’s greatest achievements, including becoming the only non-English club to win the FA Cup.

Urges the owners to consult supporters’ groups on rebranding proposals to ensure their views/concerns are considered, and that any changes to Cardiff City’s branding are not detrimental to the club’s history, tradition and heritage.
