2.1 The Committee took oral evidence from Elin Jones AM, the Minister for Rural Affairs who was supported by Dorian Brunt, Legal Services Department, Welsh Assembly Government, and Huw Brodie, Head of Rural Affairs and Heritage, Welsh Assembly Government.

Action points

The Minister agreed to write to the Chair with the following additional information:

  • Clarification on the extent of the goat and venison industries in Wales.

  • The proportion of levies collected in Wales which derive from imported livestock.
